Bush officials vow tax cuts will boost economy
Who gains from the tax & budget cuts?

Bush Cabinet officials today offered their public support for the Administration's proposed tax cuts, claiming that the nation's economy was desperately in need of this "jumpstart".

Treasury Secretary John Snow, with an expected
$275,000 tax savings, vowed to plow his money right back into brokerage firms reeling from recent fines for securities fraud.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who will
pocket an extra $184,000, pledged to invest in the struggling luxury yachting industry.

The $181,000 that
will go to Secretary of Commerce Don Evans is expected to be used to create jobs in the auto industry, as Secretary Evans buys Hummers for himself and his family members.

Bill Frist, the Senate Republican leader,
worth an estimated $20 million, has said he will use the hundreds of thousands of extra dollars he will save for extensive home remodelling, to support the hard-hit importers of Italian marble.

"Traitorous Republicans, such as John McCain, who are opposing this much-needed tax relief," said President Bush, "are only prolonging the misery that working American families are suffering in these desperate economic times."
